Question: What will my first visit be like?

Welcome & Breakfast

Destiny is a guest-friendly, loving church family. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a member of our Welcome Team and offered a FREE continental breakfast including doughnuts, coffee, water, or juice. You will be introduced to other church family members and enjoy a time of pre-service fellowship. If you have children, you will be accompanied to the appropriate department in our Destiny Kids north wing of the building. The children's churches and nursery ministries are age grouped and have multiple volunteers and staff members in each room to insure the safety and enjoyment of your children. They will have a BLAST!

Worship Music & Preaching

In our Worship Service, teens and adults will enjoy a variety of live music and worship in a casual, comfortable environment. The music is contemporary and includes live accompaniment with keyboards, guitars, and electronic drums. Feel free to stand or sit according to your preference. Some enjoy lifting their hands to worship while others clap their hands in celebration. Still others may prefer to worship with folded hands. You are not required to worship in a way that is uncomfortable for you.

We are presently worshipping in the 100-seat Lecture Hall which has comfortable theatrical seating with plans to move into the 500-seat performance auditorium in the near future. The lyrics for our music are displayed using Easy Worship video presentation software. Some songs may also include segments of music video. Pastor Arvle presents a practical, life-application message from the Bible. Some messages have fill-in-the-blank teaching outlines while others are more spontaneous, inspirational, and motivational. One thing for sure, you will experience the Passion and Purpose of Destiny Church throughout the music and preaching.

Prayer

Our services include a prayer time for special needs during the middle of the service. Depending on your previous worship experiences, you may notice that we many times pray corporately out loud. This may seem a bit unusual if you are accustomed to only one person praying at a time. But in time you will enjoy both styles of prayer at different times in worship at Destiny. There may also be an invitation for those with specific needs near the end of the message. Pastor Arvle and other members of our Prayer Team are always available for a time of personal prayer. You will never be embarrassed or forced to do or say anything against your will.

Children's Ministries

Looking for something exciting for your kids? Your children are a priority at Destiny. We presently have two age groups of Destiny Kids during each Sunday morning service at Mountain Ridge H.S. Teams of volunteers from our church family rotate on a monthly basis to provide consistency and continuity for your child’s learning and worship experiences. Parents are asked to volunteer in one of our children’s ministries as a leader or activity assistant on a rotating basis. Training and detailed outlines are provided for each service. Expect your kids to beg to come back again and again. Our kids will meet with God and each other and have fun doing it! Want to see your kid excited about coming to church? Then bring them to Destiny!

Personal Commitment Opportunity

Our service almost always includes a Prayer of Confession and an opportunity of spiritual commitment for those who have never made a formal decision to become a Christ Follower. We usually say this prayer out loud together as an entire congregation, repeating the words as Pastor Arvle leads the prayer. If you either make or renew a spiritual decision, we invite you to share this with Pastor Arvle personally by indicating so on the Communication Card distributed with our church bulletin.

Communication Cards

As the service concludes there are offering receptacles at the back door for our church family members to leave their offering envelopes, checks, and Communication Cards. Please provide us as much information as you feel comfortable in sharing on the Communication Card and drop it in the offering receptacle or hand it to someone at the Audio/Visual Desk or Information Table. We promise not to fill your mail box with unwanted mail. And we promise NOT to camp on your doorstep or become a nuisance. We are available at your invitation, but we don't have a plan to visit your home without warning.

Guest Luncheon with the Pastor

After the service, you are invited to enjoy lunch on Destiny Church. Pastor Arvle or one of our church family members will take our guests out for a get-acquainted lunch at a local restaurant. You can even help make the decision as to which restaurant! If you are not prepared to stay for lunch on your first visit, you are welcome to reschedule for a later date at your convenience.

We hope this information will make your first experience at Destiny Church a pleasant and enjoyable one. If you have any questions about our services, teachings, or ministries for your family, please don't hesitate to ask or give us a call. See you Sunday!
